Selected candidates shall receive a seed-money grant of 874 000 PLN (approximately 180 000 EUR) to cover his/her salary up to 24 917 PLN/month gross (app. 5137 EUR gross\ 3400 EUR after taxes) and research activities. The researcher shall be entitled to an additional 4850 PLN/month (app. 1000 EUR) if possess a family (spouse and/or minor child). The maximum grant amount is 990 400 PLN (204 000 EUR).
Grantee shall decide how much of the granted amount will be spent on his/her salary (up to the above-mentioned limit) and how much for research activities. Cost eligibility will include small research equipment, regents, employment of staff, research services (fully specified within the contract with selected grantees).
p<>.The employed researcher shall also receive leadership of a new unit within the University with freedom to develop it. MUG shall secure access to core facilities, full administrative support of the new unit in terms of general administrative work, support for grants applications for new projects, support in contacts within and outside of the University (see Support for grantees).
It is expected that the seed money will be the only start of the development of a new unit and excellent research group. Thus, recruited Research Scientists shall apply for another grants to develop his/her research capacities and team.
The basic time of the ERC Seed Mobility grant is 24 months counted from the first day of employment. It is expected that within this period, the candidate will apply for ERC Starting Grant (obligatory) and other grants listed below:
Candidate can also apply for any of the above-mentioned grants before mobility to MUG, choosing University as the host organization. In this case, the candidate should put the information about applying for a such grant in the motivation letter. After positive decision of the Recruitment Committee MUGs Grants Office shall contact such candidate in order to discuss details and support an application for a grant.
Receiving any of the listed grants automatically will prolong the ERC Seed Mobility grant to maximum of 36 months counted from the first day of employment. As mentioned grants also support employment, the contract with the grantee shall be prolonged till the end of grant. In case of receiving an ERC grant or EMBO grant, candidate will receive access to a possible long-term the contract with MUG, which will not be bonded with the project’s implementation period. Details will be discussed with researcher individually.
1. Holder of Ph.D. degree or equivalent degree with track records showing publications in top-rated journals (promising track record in terms of ERC application).
2. Proven record of outstanding academic achievement, including, grants, patents, presentations, and academic awards, must conduct research that fits into at least one of the MUG’s Priority Research Areas (more about the Areas).
3. Researcher of any nationality with 2-5 years of experience since completion of Ph.D.
4. Current MUG appointees are not eligible for application.
5. Candidate must show within the motivation letter potential for application for ERC Starting Grant within 2 years from employment in MUG.
