ABOUT US

The Histopathology Laboratory at the Department of Pathomorphology is a core facility laboratory that was established under the Excellence Initiative – Research University program at the Medical University of Gdańsk. The unit specializes in imaging and molecular analysis of tissue and cellular specimens. Furthemore, the Laboratory can offer employees, doctoral students at MUG and external entities substantive support and consultation opportunities for ongoing research projects.

We offer cooperation in processing and preparing tissue and cellular material for a wide range of imaging and molecular tests, performing histological and immunohistochemical staining, and imaging specimens.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

• preparation of paraffin blocks from supplied specimens: tissue or cell-based
• preparation of tissue microarrays
• cutting preparations
• staining preparations
• macrodissection, laser microdissection
• scanning slides in visible light

AVAILABLE EQUIPMENT

• Laser microdissector: PALM Microbeam Laser Microdissection System (Zeiss)
• Histology scanner: OVK-S5-023 (Olympus)
• A device for the manual preparation of tissue microarrays: Manual Tissue Arrayer MTA-1 (Beecher Instruments)

PRICE LIST

The laboratory will perform analyses according to individual orders, with customization to meet the specific needs of partners. The cost of the service is priced individually for external customers.
