MUG's specialist on an internship in the US

A researcher from the Department of Biology and Medical Genetics of the MUG Malgorzata Ponikowska, M.D. has received an invitation for a 3-month internship in the Department of Genetics and Genomics at Harvard Medical School’s teaching hospital – Boston Children’s Hospital. The facility was named the best pediatric hospital in the US for the ninth time in 2022 according to the U.S. News & World Report. Implementation of the initiative runs from September to December 2023. The specialist is the winner of the Research Travel Grants under the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” Program, which provided her with the necessary funding for her internship.

During the internship, Ponikowska, M.D. develops competence in genetic testing of the most complex genetic cases using techniques not routinely used and becomes familiar with techniques and approaches to mosaicism, for which there are no well-established approaches.
