The meeting of the Research Team X Molecular and biochemical methods for study mechanisms of civilization diseases of Priority Research Area No. 3 will be held on October 5, 2022, at 10:00 am in the Division of Medical Rescue of the MUG (building 15) 1st floor, 7 Debinki Street.

Speeches will be given by experts invited by specialists from the Division of Immunobiology and Environmental Microbiology of the MUG: Head of the unit Prof. Katarzyna Zorena and Marta Jaskulak, Ph.D. Eng. Prof. Franck Vandenbulcke of the University of Lille, France, will present a lecture on the Ecotoxicology of Silver and Silver Nanoparticles in soils and sewage sludge, followed by a presentation by Marta Jaskulak, Ph.D. Eng. Sewage sludge as agricultural fertilizer – a green opportunity or a hidden threat? Study on the potential spread of antibiotic resistance through long-term soil supplementation with sewage sludge. Later in the event, Dr. Habil. Anna Lass, Assoc. Prof., A.H. of the Department of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology of the MUG, and Paweł Gładysz, M.A., from the Division of Tropical Parasitology, will introduce topics related to research on the occurrence of the tapeworm Echinococcus multilocularis in humans and wild definitive hosts in the presentation Genetic diversity of Echinococcus multilocularis in Pomerania and Warmia-Masuria. Other invited experts of the unit are Dr. Habil. Maciej Grzybek,Assoc. Prof. who will present the results of Rodent borne diseases in Poland – what we know and what is still to discover, and Bartłomiej Ferra, Ph.D., with a lecture Toxoplasma gondii chimeric antigens – production, diagnostic and vaccine utility examination. Finally, a doctoral student from the Department of Biochemistry, Ada Kawecka, M.D., and the Head of the unit, Dr. Habil. Barbara Kutryb-Zając, will give a talk on Nucleotide precursor supplementation improved energy status in mechanical and pharmacological models of cardiomyocyte hypertrophy in vitro.
