The event, held on 27-28 November, was attended by expert cardiologists from European centres, including Karim Wahbi, Ph.D. (Hôpitaux Universitaires Paris Centre), Brian McCrossan, Ph.D. (Kingsbridge Private Hospital), Abbas Khushnood, Ph.D. (Freeman Hospital), Konstantinos Savvatis, Ph.D. (Barts Heart Centre), Alessandro Parodi (University of Padua), as well as Miling Chaudhari, Ph.D. and Ashish Chikermane, Ph.D. (Birmingham Children’s Hospital).

During the meeting, discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration in clinical research and scientific projects concerning Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases, particularly in the context of diagnostics and coordinated cardiology care. Participants exchanged experiences, discussed a joint research approach, planned initiatives, and addressed the necessary infrastructure.
The visit took place in connection with the implementation of Incoming Research Grants under the IDUB Programme.
