Design and implementation of large population studies using the spatial structure of the Laboratory, using the example of the MOLTEST Kardio + study

A population-based study of about 1,000 people conducted in 2016-2018 by the Division of Preventive Medicine & Education at MUG, on cardio-pulmonary screening of a group burdened by long-term nicotinism. A full medical history with information concerning nicotine use was taken among the participants, followed by a physical examination, blood pressure measurements, anthropometric measurements, ECG, cardiac echocardiography, spirometry and a brief anti-smoking intervention. The component tests were carried out simultaneously in different rooms, representing successive diagnostic stations. This method of project implementation allows for the efficient conduct of surveys covering large populations, particularly epidemiological or screening studies, in which respondents are subjected to multiple diagnostic and therapeutic elements.
