Summary of the meeting "Vitamin D in nutrigenomics and under the microscope"

As part of the series In vivo and in vitro studies through the eyes of team V and IX in PRA 3 – a series of meetings about intra- and inter-university collaborations, organised by the Medical University of Gdańsk, a meeting entitled Vitamin D in nutrigenomics and under the microscope was held with 63 participants. The event took place on 10 June via the ClickMeeting platform. The webinar was held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the MUG, Prof. Marcin Gruchała, and the honorary patronage of the Fahrenheit Universities.

The meeting was hosted by Prof. Dr. Habil. Michał Żmijewski from the Department of Histology at the Medical University of Gdańsk, coordinator of team IV in PRA 3 and a member of research teams VII and IX also in PRA 3. The professor gave a lecture entitled Live microscopy and artificial intelligence. Prof. Żmijewski invited Prof. Carsten Carlberg from the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn to give a lecture. Prof. Carlberg’s lecture was entitled Nutrigenomics, epigenetics and vitamin D: a triangular relationship.

The event was attended by scientists not only from the Medical University of Gdańsk or universities belonging to the Fahrenheita Universities, but also from other national units. At the end of the meeting, the speakers exchanged their comments and answered the questions of the participants.
