Summary of "Pulmonary hypertension - a clinical problem and experimental models" meeting

Fourty six people took part in the second meeting titled Pulmonary hypertension – a clinical problem and experimental models in the series In Vivo and In Vitro Research through the Eyes of Teams V and IX in PRA 3 – a Cycle of Meetings on Intra- and Intercollegiate Cooperation, which was held online on 22 April 2022. The webinar took place on 22 april this year via the Clickmeeting platform.The patronage of the event was provided by the MUG Rector, Prof. Marcin Gruchała and Fahrenheit Universities in Gdańsk.

The host of the meeting was Prof. Dr Habil. Ivan Kocić, head of the Department and Division of Pharmacology of the MUG, as a member of the team V at PRA 3 and a member of the team VI at PRA 2. During the webinar Prof. Kocić gave a lecture entitled Pulmonary hypertension – a clinical problem and experimental models.

Tara Scott Ph.D. from Monash University in Australia and Katarzyna Sztormowska-Achranowicz, Ph.D. from MUG Department and Division of Pharmacologywere invited as speakers to participate in the event. T. Scott, Ph.D. gave lecture entitled Targeting the NLRP3 inflammasome as a novel approach for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension, while K. Sztormowska_Achranowicz share the results of her team research in a speach entitled Pulmonary hypertension: gender differences in our research.

The event was attended by scientists not only from Tri-City universities, but also from foreign institutions. The next meeting will take place on 9 June and information about the speakers and topics of the lecture will be available soon.
