Subject Area and Research Team: VI. Heart rhythm and sudden cardiac death

Area and Research Team: VI. Heart rhythm and sudden cardiac death

Research topics

1. Non-invasive prognostic risk factors of malignant arrhythmias and neurogenic syncope in patients with normal heart, left and right ventricle dysfunction

2. Risk factors of ventricular arrhythmias, myocardial dysfunction, and prognosis in patients with hereditary cardiomyopathies, channelopathies, and arrhythmogenic mitral valve prolapse

3. Combined analysis of patients with atrial fibrillation, including patients with acute myocardial infarction and patients after cardio-surgery operations, with particular attention to metabolomic mechanisms of arrhythmia

4. Subcutaneous cardioverter-defibrillator in sudden cardiac death prevention

5. Complications of invasive electrotherapy – prophylaxis and treatment

Key current projects

1. Polish S-ICD Registry

2. Malignant mitral prolapse – risk factors and prognosis

3. Unmarked and targeted metabolomics analysis in atrial fibrillation assessment using analytical techniques coupled with spectrometry and advanced bioinformatics methods

4. Natural History and Risk Stratification in Andersen-Tawil Syndrome Type 1.

5. The impact of the multisite pacing of the left ventricle on clinical and echocardiographic parameters in patients with CRT-D
